About Galleon Cruises

Galleon Cruises is owned and run by Dale Bradley, who has grown up and lived by and on the sea for virtually all is life. Needless to say he loves the sea and feels “odd” if he is on land too long!

Dale Bradley skippers the Mona Lisa and holds the qualification of Commercial Endorsed Yacht Master. He is a highly experienced sea farer having served 7 years in the Royal Navy and 2 years in the Merchant Navy travelling the world. He lives in Ramsgate and has great local knowledge of the waters and coastline.

A few years ago Dale took up a post in London working for a global satellite communications company utilising his extensive communications skills. He commuted daily from Ramsgate to central London. Although the daily commute was arduous to say the least it made him appreciate even more how lucky he was to be able to come home to the seaside and enjoy the fresh air and beauty after a hard days work in the smoke.

Having made friends with colleagues in London Dale naturally started to invite some of them to come down and stay and enjoy a little sea air on whatever boat he had at the time! They loved it and almost all his weekend guests without fail would say they felt like they’d been away, abroad even and how lucky he was. Thus the idea of setting up Galleon Cruises came about offering people the opportunity to enjoy a little of the beauty of the sea without having to get on a plane and spend a fortune. The fact is you can leave London and be sipping champagne on the Mona Lisa within 2 hours, for many that’s less time than it takes you to drive to the airport!

The Mona Lisa is a Larson wide-beam, luxury sport cruiser Cabrio 330. The Mona Lisa has twin Volvo ADP41's engines with a cruising speed of 22-25 knots and a top speed of just over 30 knots (for land lubbers that means FAST!). Rest assured however, The Mona Lisa is one of the most stable and comfortable rides in her class.

The Cabrio 330 has the manufacturers’ slogan of ‘The Perfect Adventure’ and she very much lives up to this. Mona Lisa has all the latest safety equipment onboard and has been licensed Category Three by the Marine and Coastal Agency (MCA). We fully conform to all the requirements of MCA.
